I do believe were going to be stuck in the high cirrus overcast with no clearing in site..

Looking at 18ZGFS, I see no real change in the weather pattern for next week as we`ll remain dry, highs in the 70`s, and daily chances of storms over the Cascades/ east of the Cascades for the next several days as occasional pieces of energy look to be embedded in the persistent upper level trough that looks to be over us into much of next week. Long term GFS after next weekend, still seems to play around with a ridge of sorts over the Western US. We`ll see.

90 pages about nothing! Well, (obviously) I pinned the new thread for August so lets try and transition our discussion to that thread.

Bump, Pendleton NWS released one of these. Unfortunately the July was slightly warmer than average compared to historical data, but colder than average compared to last 30 years.
III. SIGNIFICANT WEATHER

A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE AT THE END OF THE MONTH BEGAN TO SHIFT
EAST OVER THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS WHILE A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE
REMAINED OFF THE WEST COAST. MOISTURE FROM THE DESERT SOUTHWEST
MOVED NORTHWARD IN THE SOUTHWEST FLOW INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST.
DISTURBANCES IN THE FLOW ALONG WITH THE MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY
FROM DAYTIME HEATING LED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THUNDERSTORMS
STARTING JULY 26TH OVER EAST OREGON AND SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON AND
CONTINUING EACH DAY THROUGH THE END OF THE MONTH. ON JULY 26TH,
THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCED HEAVY RAIN OVER BEND, OREGON WITH ONE SPOTTER
REPORTING ONE INCH OF RAIN FALLING OVER 25 MINUTES. TWO TO THREE
INCHES OF STANDING WATER FLOODED STREETS.
ON JULY 28TH, IN RIMROCK, WASHINGTON, A SPOTTER REPORTED 0.60
INCHES OF RAIN THAT FELL IN 45 MINUTES. A MUDSLIDE WAS REPORTED ON
INDIAN CREEK ROAD, AND LARGE AMOUNTS OF MUD WERE WASHED DOWNSTREAM
AND INTO AN AREA OF CAMPERS. A COCORAHS OBSERVER IN TIETON,
WASHINGTON REPORTED A 24-HOUR PRECIPITATION TOTAL OF 1.31 INCHES.
THE TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE LIFTED NORTHWARD INTO WASHINGTON ON
THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH OF JULY. THIS CONTINUED TO PROVIDE LIFT
FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THUNDERSTORMS. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS
WERE LOCATED OVER CENTRAL WASHINGTON, WHERE HAIL AND HEAVY RAIN WERE
REPORTED. HAIL RANGED FROM 1/4 OF AN INCH TO 1 INCH IN YAKIMA.
HALF-INCH HAIL WAS ALSO REPORTED NORTHWEST OF SUNNYSIDE WHERE HEAVY
RAIN CAUSED STANDING WATER IN FIELDS AND LOCAL ROADS. A FARMER
NORTHWEST OF SUNNYSIDE REPORTED AN ESTIMATION OF 2 TO 3 INCHES OF
RAIN HAVING FALLEN IN 20 MINUTES WHICH WASHED OUT SOME OF THE LOCAL
ROADS.
